Reviews

Manage product reviews, moderation workflows, and customer feedback

Product reviews let your customers share feedback on purchases, building trust and driving conversions on your storefront. Manage reviews from the Storefront > Reviews menu.

Reviews List

The reviews list displays all reviews with the following columns:

  • Title — the review headline
  • Product — the product the review is for (linked to the product page)
  • User — the reviewer's name
  • Score — rating out of 5.0
  • Votes — helpfulness votes from other customers
  • Status — moderation status (e.g. "Requires moderation", "Approved", "Rejected")
  • Date Created

Use the search bar to find reviews by keyword, and Filters to narrow by date, status, product, score, or other criteria.

Bulk Actions

Select one or more reviews using the checkboxes, then use the Actions dropdown to approve or reject them in bulk. This is the fastest way to moderate a queue of incoming reviews.

Review Detail

Click on a review title to open the detail view. The left panel shows editable fields:

  • Title — the review headline (editable for moderation)
  • Body — the full review text
  • Score — rating dropdown (adjustable)
  • Status — set to Approved, Requires moderation, or Rejected

The right Review Detail panel shows read-only information: Customer name, Product link, Date, and current Status.

Moderation

By default, new reviews are submitted with a "Requires moderation" status and will not appear on the storefront until approved.

To configure moderation behavior, go to Settings > General Settings and look for the Moderate Reviews option. When enabled, all reviews must be approved by an administrator before they are published on the storefront.

You can edit the title, body, and score of a review before approving it. This is useful for correcting formatting issues or removing inappropriate content while preserving the customer's feedback.

Who Can Leave Reviews

Reviews include built-in validation to prevent spam and ensure quality feedback:

Allowed:

  • Logged-in registered users
  • Non-logged-in customers who have placed at least one order (identified by email)

Not allowed:

  • Users who do not exist in the system
  • Leads who have never completed an order (e.g. abandoned checkout with email only)

This order-based validation ensures that only real customers can leave reviews, without requiring every reviewer to create an account.
